Giant Jones’ Lagniappe Stage at Fete – Sunday 7/12

Join us for a true Sunday Funday and the LAST day of la Fete de Marquette. Grab a beer and enjoy live music AND dancing!

12:00-1:00 – Bear in the Forest – Bear In The Forest is a singer-songwriter from Milwaukee,WI and a student at UW-Madison. As a lover of the natural world and of folk music; he uses his acoustic guitar and voice to capture and challenge people. He has been featured on publications such as AfroPunk and MishkaNYC.

1:45-3:15 – Rebulu Group – Rebulú is a band in the mold of a classic Cuban conjunto with a twist. Its sound is a deft, tight, soulful blend of Cuban, Puerto Rican, and African diaspora grooves topped with powerful lead and harmony vocals. Rebulu’s repertoire includes classics of the genre as well as originals that bring in elements of pop and rock. Formed in early 2019, the group has already garnered an impressive buzz in the Madison salsa scene, and is guaranteed to keep the dance floor hoppin’.

4:00-5:30 PM – The Stop & Listen & Dot Smith – The Stop and Listen plays old-time stringband music with a unique set of instruments and voices. We specialize in fiddle tunes, old-time songs, jug band numbers, and country blues. They bring some serious drive and groove with harmonicas (sometimes a couple at once), extraordinary improvisation on cello and fiddle, banjos of uncompromising size, and a bass with a chip on its shoulder. Songs are sung with an old-time swagger, harmonies included.

6:15-7:45 PM – Mr. Chair – Mr. Chair is a boundary-pushing Madison piano trio blending jazz, classical, and experimental sounds. Known for dynamic collaborations across genres, they’ve released acclaimed albums like Nebulebula, Better Days, the operatic Sirena, and hip hop-infused Spectaculous. Their adventurous performances range from A Charlie Brown Christmas to Stravinsky reworks, all marked by bold storytelling and musical precision.
