Sunday Funday Music at Fete de Marquette – Lagniappe Stage

It’s Sunday Funday at Giant Jones & our Lagniappe stage will be showcasing amazing musical acts all day long. Our tasting room will open at Noon so come on by and grab some beers & sit back and enjoy the music…

1pm-2pm The Stop and Listen – The Stop and Listen plays old-time stringband music with a unique set of instruments and voices. We specialize in fiddle tunes, old-time songs, jug band numbers, and country blues. They bring some serious drive and groove with harmonicas (sometimes a couple at once), extraordinary improvisation on cello and fiddle, banjos of uncompromising size, and a bass with a chip on its shoulder. Songs are sung with an old-time swagger, harmonies included.

2:45pm-3:45pm The Lonesome Cobras – A band from Madison and Milwaukee featuring an unusual take on songwriter music–with violin, accordion, upright bass, multiple vocalists, and a dark, bluesy sound.

4:30pm-5:30pm Jon Irabagon Trio – First-generation Filipino-American saxophonist Jon Irabagon (b. 1978, Chicago) draws from the AACM’s innovative spirit and Chicago’s storied tenor saxophone legacy. Equally skilled in modern jazz and new music, he blends influences from late-period Coltrane and modern classical, composing primarily for mixed chamber ensembles tailored to his musicians’ unique voices.

6:15pm-7:15pm Mr Chair – Mr. Chair is a boundary-pushing Madison piano trio blending jazz, classical, and experimental sounds. Known for dynamic collaborations across genres, they’ve released acclaimed albums like Nebulebula, Better Days, the operatic Sirena, and hip hop-infused Spectaculous. Their adventurous performances range from A Charlie Brown Christmas to Stravinsky reworks, all marked by bold storytelling and musical precision.

Funky Circus Town at Fete de Marquette – Lagniappe Stage

Our Lagniappe Stage is back for another full day of entertaining fun!

Join us for some funky music featuring some great local bands. Then we’ll end the evening with our friends from Elemental Aerial Arts & their circus fun performance.

Our tasting room will be open as usual so grab some beers & enjoy the entertainment!

1pm-3pm Nuggernaut  – Instrumental/jazz funk at it’s the finest. The group balances a repertoire of original music with an eclectic mix of covers from the likes of Michael Jackson,  Herbie Hancock and Led Zeppelin. Nuggernaut  is comfortable in intense listening concert settings as well nasty dance parties and everything in between.

3pm-5pm Novel Folly

5pm-7pm The Earthlings – Madison’s musical collective that brings eras of electronic sonic rock together with a laid back psychedelic indie emphasis, euphoric space, and positive vibrations from the 60’s, early 70’s, and 90’s.

7:30pm-9:30pm Elemental Aerial Arts – Elemental Aerial Arts was created by Jess Clark in 2023, connecting her passion for nature and aerial arts together.  She draws inspiration from the natural elements of water, air, fire, and earth to connect and inspire others.  Elemental performances embody the fluidity of water, the freedom of air, the intensity of fire, and the grounding force of earth. We strive to create awe-inspiring pieces that connect the audience with the power of nature.

Wonderporium Album Release Party

The Wonderporium presents an evening of improvised electronic music to celebrate the release of their debut album, Two Impromptus.

“Two Impromptus” features two long-form improvisations they recorded in the midst of a January snowstorm. The end result is at once patient and cinematic, glacial and hyper-eclectic. As these explorations unfold, the scenes set themselves: barren midwest tundras, fire-lit parlors, mountainside temples, abandoned Cold War radar stations, a celebration of the end times.

We’re so excited to be hosting our talented friends. They will perform 1, maybe 2 sets of amazing music for you to enjoy. This event is FREE, just pay for any food or beverages.

SIRENA Album Release Party

Come hang out with the crew behind SIRENA, have some treats and enjoy Giant Jones beer!!

An original story conceived by Filipina artist, Leslie Damaso, set within new compositions and contemporary arrangements of kundiman songs of love and freedom. Sirena blends a personal story, family secrets, a mythic love triangle ending in the beginning of a nation, the displacement of its people, and an individual’s search for identity and belonging. This is an act of weaving together pieces to heal what’s beneath our scars; it is a journey back to the sweetness of life.
