Brews & Tunes at Biersal Tavern – Milwaukee

Hey Milwaukee we’re back!
Beginning at 6pm, award winning and women owned & operated Giant Jones Brewing is coming with some of their amazing beers. We’ve hand picked a few of their more obscure beer styles. The history of some of these styles even pre-date modern brewing techniques! Owner & Head Brewer Jessica will be here to answer any questions you may have about these beers.
Then starting at 7pm, our friends Mea Jima return for another night of performing more of their ethereal soundscapes.
This will surely be a fun evening of experimental music paired with experimental beers!

Wonderporium Album Release Party

The Wonderporium presents an evening of improvised electronic music to celebrate the release of their debut album, Two Impromptus.

“Two Impromptus” features two long-form improvisations they recorded in the midst of a January snowstorm. The end result is at once patient and cinematic, glacial and hyper-eclectic. As these explorations unfold, the scenes set themselves: barren midwest tundras, fire-lit parlors, mountainside temples, abandoned Cold War radar stations, a celebration of the end times.

We’re so excited to be hosting our talented friends. They will perform 1, maybe 2 sets of amazing music for you to enjoy. This event is FREE, just pay for any food or beverages.

Make Music Madison at Giant Jones

Make Music Madison is a free, citywide day of music every June 21. We are part of Make Music Day, a celebration that occurs in 1,000+ cities across the globe. Madison began participating in 2013 and now boasts the largest event in the country. Parks, porches, restaurants, shops, worship spaces and more fill with music for all to enjoy!

This year we welcome 5 groups that will be performing here in our tasting room.

Grab a beer & enjoy some great live music!!!

The Stop And Listen
Formed in Madison in 2023, the Stop and Listen bring unique instrumentation and high-energy fun to a range of American traditional music. Hot fiddle tunes, jug band blues, hillbilly songs, and more. Featuring Daniel Plane (cello, fiddle), Calvin Woodring (harmonica), Adam Helt-Baldwin (bass), and Mike Tiboris (banjo). It’s a chimerical mashup that is unlike any other. Stop, listen, and let ‘er rip!

Still Jaded After All These Years
We feature guitar, keyboards, saxophone, vocals, percussion, and occasional cello and trombone. We do covers of pop, rock, jazz, country, and folk tunes from all eras (but admittedly heavy on the 60s and 70s stuff!).

Steady JB
I started songwriting and performing 30 years ago in bands and as a solo performer, adapted the name Steady JB. As a solo act, with my own equipment, I am versatile to fill in between sets or do sets of my own. I have backed up blues and rock bands, as well as reggaeton. Some collaborations are documented on the jazz_joints_productions YouTube channel. I collaborate well with others and look forward to participating in new sound!

Old Gray Cats
We play Old Timey Music. This music came from the banjos and fiddles of the 1800’s. Bluegrass came out of this tradition. The fiddle tunes are still widely used for square dances and contra dances today. With the Old Gray Cats for today are: Linda Millunzi-Jones, Fiddle Greg Jones, Guitar Joe McNally, Banjo

Flannel And Rust
Roots music with an eclectic, well-traveled flair. Smart lyrics, ninja-style guitar and finely-crafted songs. What more do you need? Playing mostly originals, with a few fun covers thrown in to keep the people dancing.
